U.S. v. Perkins, No. 88-5237 (9th Cir.) (937 F.2d 1397) (July 1, 1991) (Judge Pamela Ann Rymer)

Case held that evidence of a prior conviction was not admissible as identity evidence because it was "not sufficiently distinctive to warrant an inference that the person who committed the crime also committed the offense at issue.
