Abel v. U.S., No. 2 (U.S. Supreme Court) (362 U.S. 217; 80 S.Ct. 683) (March 28, 2060) (Justice Frankfurter)

Case held that a search, without a warrant, of articles that had been abandoned was permissible under the Fourth Amendment.
