California v. Beheler, No. 82-1666 (U.S. Supreme Court) (463 U.S. 1121; 103 S.Ct. 3517) (July 6, 1983) (Per Curiam)

Here the Court held that, for Miranda purposes, the question of whether a person is "in custody" revolves on whether there is a "formal arrest or restraint on freedom of movement of the degree associated with formal arrest" (Id., at 1125).
