Roe v. Wade, No. 70-18 (U.S. Supreme Court) (410 U.S. 113; 93 S.Ct. 705) (January 22, 1973) (Justice Blackmun)

In this case, Roe, a Texas resident, sought to terminate her pregancy by abortion. Texas law prohibited abortions except to save the pregnant woman’s life.
